We source only the finest ingredients for our products, which we proudly pack here, in the UK. Our noodles, puffed rice and oats didn’t start life in some dodgy processing plant, but are grown in idyllic paddy fields in sunny Asia.
Quality is at the heart of our business. We use the highest-quality freeze-dried ingredients, to lock in the goodness. These are blended with vibrant spices or creamy coconut milk to create amazing, authentic tasting products.
It works by freezing the food and then reducing the surrounding pressure to allow the frozen water to change from a solid to a gas.
The food is sealed to prevent the reabsorption of moisture. It can then be stored at room temperature without refrigeration.
It causes much less damage to the food product than other dehydration methods.
In planning for long-duration Space missions, NASA uses freeze-dried food to nourish the crew.
When rehydrated, flavours, smells and texture remain unchanged and most importantly, freeze-dried proteins lock in the goodness! Pretty cool, huh?
These are unnatural fats that are really not good for your health. Our ranges of rice noodles, ramen and congees don’t contain many, in fact we average around 1.1g per cup. That’s low!
We keep our calorie count relatively low in all our ranges. Our rice noodles range between 208-274 calories per cup, our congee averages 215 per cup whilst our porridge ranges from 280 to 359 and our ramen comes in at under 267 kcal per cup.
Our rice noodles are one of the lowest in salt in the instant noodle category. Mr Lee’s Rice Noodle cups average around 2g per cup, which is almost 3 times lower than some nasty instant noodles out there!
Our rice noodles, porridges and congees are all independently certified by Sugarwise as low in sugar and our ramen noodles average around 3.8g per cup. Our Kicking Korean Beef, for example, has only 2.2g per cup. *The free sugar RDA for an adult is 30g per day, which is equivalent to 7 sugar cubes.
