We’re fortunate to have a great team who have adapted quickly to working from home, and a nutritious ambient product which many people are now turning to as their new cupboard staple.
We know we’re lucky in this sense, and have been busy bee’s making it all happen.
So what has been happening in the last 2 months?
For starters we are now officially producing our award winning noodles on 3 continents (Australia, Europe and the USA). Our production facilities in the US went live last month and we are excited to announce we have launched in Whole Foods Market nationally, with our Coconut Chicken Curry, Tai Chi Chicken, Hong Kong Street-Style Beef and Zen Garden Vegetable Miso. Help on the frontline
At the beginning of April we launched “When you Buy, We Give” campaign - for every case of noodles bought on our website in April and May, we are donating a cup of noodles to NHS and foodbanks in the UK and foodbanks in Australia.
We’ve given away over 10,000 cups between the UK and Australia already, with more to come! Damien Lee, the Founder and CEO of Mr Lee’s has also personally donated some noodles to support the specific hospitals he’s been treated in recently.
He said: ”The NHS frontline workers have been the heroes of the nation here in the UK during the lock-down due to covid-19. I have seen how exhausted these doctors and nurses are - working 16-hour shifts with no food because the hospital dining areas are closed and they are sleeping at the hospital so they have no access to food or can't get to a supermarket. These are the guys fighting the big battle at the moment and, to me, they are heroes”
We have also donated thousands of noodles to good causes - read more here
“Back to Work” Restart Scheme
Getting a hot, quick, nutritious meal to those who need has always been our mission. We’re now offering lots of different ways in which people can support their staff with noodles - one of which is our amazing pallet deal offer, where for each purchase of 1500 cups, we top it up with 30% free noodles! The noodles have a long shelf life, so it is great for those who have lots of staff or want to stock up!
Soon more and more companies will open their doors, yet getting your lunch as quickly and easily as before may be a challenge.
We at Mr Lee’s, on the top of the “pallet deal” mentioned above, which is great for bigger companies, are also happy to support smaller establishments with our FSDUs and lower quantity deals by accepting commercial orders and offering trade prices, from only 180 cups! So every business can provide quick, hot food options for their employees without leaving the building! For more information, email [email protected]
We’re proud to promote Mighty Small, a brand new online supermarket which sells other small challenger brands like Mr Lee’s Noodles who are all part of Young Foodies.
“Mighty Small is the result of hundreds of small food brands coming together to share their products with the people that believe in them. They dedicate their lives to producing delicious, exciting products with purpose.” Check it out now!
On the Big Screen
Damien and his family have also recently taken part in Rich House, Poor House which aired on Channel 5 in the UK. One thing the family took away from their experience was just how expensive it can be to eat healthy. When Damien was first diagnosed with cancer he realised how important eating healthily was, which led to the development of Mr Lee’s Noodles. This experience has shown him the importance of making healthy nutritious food available to all, which has spurred new product development ideas here at HQ! You can watch it here
We changed our fulfilment centre from our previous provider, to a local company with a great track-record. Going forwards all orders will be on 3-day Royal Mail tracked service, and improved processes are now in-place here at Mr Lee’s to confirm delivery has taken place. They’re also a local business to us, with fantastic people that we can get on the phone if we need to. We believe this will improve our service ongoing and support local jobs.
We really hope you’re all safe and well whether you’re staying home or out doing important work during this really uncertain time for us all. We want you to know that we’ve taken steps to keep our staff safe and we are all home working, our noodles are in great supply and we’re working hard to improve our online sales resources to get them to you as quickly as possible.
