There’s plenty of moments in life when you encounter things that probably shouldn’t go together, but somehow really, really do. Things like salt and caramel, ketchup and ice cream, or maybe even your grandma and the harmonica – but have you ever come across motorcycles and instant noodles?
The Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride is a one-day event across the globe, where now over 120,000 riders gather in spirit, leathers and tweed to raise funds and awareness for men’s health, specifically prostate cancer and men’s mental health. As a two-time cancer survivor, the cause behind the ride is very real for Damien and his family, having won in his last battle against cancer early this year, and losing a close friend very recently.
On the 30th of September, Damien and his crew will ride the coastal roads of Dorset, amongst many like-minded individuals, all to shine a light on men’s health whilst doing something Damien loves. Having recently taken delivery of his shiny new Indian Motorcycle, he intends to train over the next year to take on more challenging rides come 2019.
However, riding 500s and making a noise is nothing on the importance of raising funds to aid in the fight against prostate cancer, and awareness around men’s mental health. Damien has already smashed his initial fundraising target, but intends to do all he can to seriously increase that number. Every penny counts, so head on over to the DGR (Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride) website and donate on Damien’s profile to make a significant difference!
