Author: Mr Lee's Team
In the weeks since our founder Damien very sadly passed away, we have been overwhelmed with the outpouring of love, support and tributes to Damien and stories of inspiration that have come from all corners. As we all know, Damien has so bravely lived with and fought cancer over the past 6 years and, despite this challenge, he never stopped being tremendously creative and inspiring, or building relentlessly toward the realisation of his dreams. His resilience in the face of physical difficulty and disdain for the constant invitation to be fearful - rather turning each moment to productive living are instructive indeed. He made time for people and was a true friend to everyone. He was extremely proud of how his aspirations to change things for the better are now being fulfilled around the world.
Our business, which Damien first sparked and then fanned the growing flames with his irrepressible passion for creating healthier, better food and making a positive difference on a global scale, is burning brightly with the continuing desire to realise this mission. The creativity, purpose and boundless optimism Damien embodied are a living and integral part of our DNA and inspire each of us to live better, do better, be better.
Nothing made Damien prouder than seeing Mr Lee’s now prospering and making increasing waves around the world. His vision and mission for our business to help people to be healthier through eating better has never been more relevant and motivating. We are deeply committed to fulfil what he began. He will be terribly missed by all of us but we feel very privileged to be part of fulfilling his living and lasting mission to offer healthier food options to people.
Damien will always be a special part of the many people he inspired with his courage, resilience, dynamism, endless optimism, buccaneering style and enormous heart. His energy, enthusiasm, creativity, his twinkling rebelliousness, and his deeply caring nature are an entrenched inspiration to us all. We will continue to be inspired by Damien and his legacy which lives on strongly in the company he founded.
We wanted to thank everyone who took the time to send their best stories and memories of Damien. All these messages have been collected and are now available on a memoriam page.
The funeral service will take place on Friday 26th February at 1.30pm. Due to the Covid restrictions, a live streaming of the funeral will be available here.
If you would like to make a donation in Damien’s memory, you can do so on a Just Giving page which has been created to raise vital funds for people who are affected by cancer.
