Two New Vegan-Friendly Flavours!

The vegan diet has been shrouded by imagery of dreadlocks and sandals for a long-time now, but the general public are quickly realising the endless health benefits the diet has to offer, with any lasting stigmas fading day by day. With google searches for ‘vegan’ increasing by 380% in the last five years, the diet is more prominent in the public eye than it ever has been before, with supermarkets and restaurants racing to meet the demand for vegan food.

Forgetting the countless ways a vegan diet benefits the environment and world’s resources, purely on a health stance the vegan lifestyle can be one of the healthiest ways to live. The plant-based diet contains plenty of fresh vegetables and whole grains, resulting in a body that is higher in vitamins, minerals, phytochemicals, and fibre. Healthy vegan diets are abundant with vitamins B1, C, and E, folic acid, magnesium, and iron whilst being low in cholesterol and saturated fats.

By utilising a well-planned diet, risks of type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease, ischemic heart disease, hypertension, stroke, some cancers and general obesity are all reduced dramatically. But what’s the compromise? Is the vegan diet as bland, tasteless and plain as the general public can make it out to be?

The key is when items are stripped away from a meal to make it healthier, to replace them with nutritious alternatives that are just as tasty.  Mr Lee’s Noodles does exactly this with their vegan flavours, in an easy and quick instant noodle cup.

The vegan lifestyle can often be quite time consuming, good meal preparation is the only way to achieve both a healthy and tasty diet. That’s where Mr Lee’s shine, a gluten free, vegan noodle, with the only requirement being hot water to achieve a restaurant-calibre, gourmet noodle.

Our two new veggie noodle flavours are Dragon Fire Vegetables, a hot & sour rice noodle with red miso, bamboo shoots, green beans, mushroom and tamari soy sauce, and Zen Garden Vegetables, harmonious miso rice noodles with asparagus, green beans, spinach & ginger. Both very different flavours, but both under 208 calories, packed full of protein.

The real key to Mr Lee’s Noodles being so healthy, yet so tasty, is through our use of freeze-dried ingredients. In comparison to the ‘traditional’ method of dehydrating ingredients to become a powder-based flavouring, freeze-drying keeps the form of the vegetables, and locks in all the taste and most of the nutritional values. This is what makes them ideal for a hot, tasty meal on the go, no matter where you are.

Mr Lee’s Zen Garden Vegetables and Dragon Fire Vegetables are registered with The Vegan Society.
